Noel R. Newman, a founder of the firm, focuses on civil
litigation with particular emphasis on personal injury,
malpractice and breach of contract claims.
Mr. Newman graduated from Yale University in 1953 and
received his law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law
School in 1956.
He is admitted to practice before all Connecticut courts,
the United States District Court for Connecticut, and
the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Newman has been appointed as a member of the Civil
Jury Instruction Committee and serves as a Special Master
in both the United States District Court and the Superior
Courts and is an Attorney Trial Referee in the Superior
Court. Mr. Newman is a member of the panel of arbitrators
of the American Arbitration Association as well as a
member of the Civil Task Force.
He additionally holds membership in the Connecticut
Bar Association where he sits on the Executive Board
of the Litigation Committee and in the Greater Bridgeport
Bar Association where he has served as chairman of the
Civil Trials and Procedures, the Bench-Bar and the Alternative
Dispute Resolution Committees. He is also is a member
of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and has
been a faculty member of the Trial Advocacy Institute,
which is sponsored jointly by the Connecticut Bar Association
and the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
Active in his community, he has served as Town Attorney
for the Town of Fairfield for 13 years; has been a member
of the Fairfield’s Representative Town Meeting,
the Board of Finance, and Fairfield’s Ethics Commission.
He is currently counsel to the Fairfield Board of Education.
He has also served as president of the Osborn Hill School
PTA and sat on both the Fairfield PTA Council and The
Mill Hill School Building Committee. Mr. Newman has been
President of Congregation Beth El of Fairfield where
he was named “Man of the Year”. |
